Perm receives our nominations in international City Where I Want to Live competition

The 7th international competition of the CIS and EAEC cities’ urban practices has drawn to a close. Participants included large cities and capitals of administrative-territorial entities in the CIS and EAEC. Perm won diplomas in four categories.

The competition is held annually and aims to find solutions to a number of specific urban issues as well as to assess what the participating cities have achieved to improve the urban quality of life. In addition, it is a good opportunity to exhibit the accumulated resource potential.

This year saw Perm being rewarded in four categories: Effective Budget Drawing Up and Execution, Increasing Residents’ Awareness of the City Public Transport Work through On-line Resources, Inventory of the Industrial Areas of the City, and Perm Subcontracting Centre.

According to the evaluation procedure of the competition, the expert team assesses the practices by which specific urban development issues are solved, not the participating cities themselves. The achievements submitted to the competition are compared and assessed against a number of criteria: the quality and effectiveness of the organizational and technical solutions, the social and economic impact, and the feasibility of practices in other cities.

The Urban Practices Library is compiled after the competition and new information is added to the library each year. The competition is initiated by the International Assembly of Capitals and Cities and co-organized with the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation, the CIS Executive Committee, the Integration Committee of the Eurasian Economic Community, and the All-Russian Council of Local Authorities.
